Passenger Dies After Fall from World’s Largest Cruise Ship

Tragedy has struck the world’s largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, as a passenger has died after jumping overboard.

Incident Details

According to The New York Post, the unidentified man jumped more than 80 feet into the ocean shortly after the ship departed from Florida en route to Honduras. The U.S. Coast Guard quickly responded by deploying a rescue boat and retrieving him from the water. Despite their swift actions, the man was pronounced dead following the rescue operation.

The U.S. Coast Guard clarified that their involvement in this incident was primarily focused on assisting with search and recovery efforts.
