President Biden’s recent remarks in Detroit have sparked confusion and debate.
Confusing Statements About the Pandemic
At a recent event in Detroit, Michigan, President Biden made an inaccurate statement about his tenure during the COVID-19 pandemic. He claimed, “When I was vice president, things were kind of bad during the pandemic and what happened was, Barack said to me, ‘Go to Detroit! Help fix it,’” Biden said.
The President continued by adding, “Well, the poor mayor, he’s spent more time with me than he ever thought he’s gonna have to!”

Unclear References to Past Events
From The New York Post:
Biden’s confusion is evident as it remains unclear what event he was referring to in his remarks. In 2011 however, Biden did claim that the Obama administration rescued America’s auto industry from “the brink of extinction” following the 2008 financial crisis.
Comments on Black History and Book Banning
Adding to his list of statements, Biden declared that people are attempting to “literally” erase Black history. He remarked, “I never imagined in the 2024 there’d be folks waiting to ban books in America! What in God’s name is that about? Not only that, they’re trying to erase black history! Literally!”
